Several myths are associated with 12 <em>kundas<\/em>\/sacred ponds and a big pond namely <em>Basistha Ganga<\/em> which surrounds this Math. <em>Yogacharya Gorakkhanath<\/em> came here during his dharma prachar. Many monument and tombs were discovered here by Archeological Survey of India and some valuable sculptures recovered are kept in different museum of India, which proves the archaism and historical importance of the Nath Yogis. From ancient scriptures and records, it could be established that the land of mandir was donated by Chandraketu of Gupta dynasty and Mughal emperor Jahangir donated land for its expansion. The name of Mahanad math is mentioned in many ancient books and scriptures which manifest the importance of this Math and its social connection of those times. From the beginning, the Math is maintained by Nath <em>Mahantas<\/em> called <em>Yogiraaj <\/em>and the tradition is continued till date. It is also a very old and sacred place of Nathas. <em>Yogacharya Gorakkhanath<\/em> also came here during his dharma prachar. The natural beauty mixed with the tranquil surrounding spreads the aura of divinity. It is said that the environment of Siddhinath mandir influences pilgrims, to ponder upon the philosophy of life and secrets of spiritualism which is preached by the Nath gurus. Daily puja and supervision are carried out by Nathpanth Sadhus. Nath Yogi gurus from different corners come here during their yatra and follow the traditional path shown by the ancient gurus. The mandir is maintained by Mahanta from Kapilani Pantha of Nath Gurus. From the ancient time devotees from all cast and religion come here for puja and seek blessing from Nath Yogi Sadhus.
