The second founding day of Medinipur Nath Unnayan Sangathan was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor on 27th December (2020) in the ground adjacent to Nathpara village of East Pitpur village in East Midnapore district (Po. Kashapat, Thana Panskura). The day is celebrated with great pomp and ceremony among the students of Nath Yogi community through various competitions.
To make the event a success, a committee was formed in a preparatory meeting on 20th December under the chairmanship of Smt. Bharati Debnath, the president of the organization. The office bearers are Shri Subhadeep Nath (Vice-President), Shri Gopal Debnath (Secretary) and Shri Mrinal Kanti Nath as the Executive Member.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the flag following which the children participated in various sports like fun and musical races etc. cheered by many locals. The races were followed by extempore story writing, sit and draw competition etc.
Attending Guests were felicitated at the awards ceremony. Among the guests were Shri Samiran Debnath, Assistant Secretary of Assam Banga Yogi Sammilani, Sri Amar Nath a veteran social worker form East Pitpur village and Sri Pabitra Debnath. In their speeches, the guests explained the social services rendered by the Sammilani and stressed upon the importance of working unitedly for the community, improve public relations and reminded individuals duty to the Nation.
The Bhimpada Debnath memorial prizes for sports were given away by the village teacher Sri Pabitra Debnath who happens to be the grandson of the Late Sri Bhimpada Debnath. The winners of the poetry and story writing and drawing competitions will be announced later. While Ananya Nath, Priyanshi Debnath, Ashtami Debnath took part in the cultural program following the event, Sri Amar Nath discussed about Nath Dharma.
Apart from a large number of students, the presence of women in the meeting was noteworthy. Mousumi Nath, Ashtami Nath, Barnali Debnath, Sudipa Debnath, Krishna Debnath, Purnima Debnath are few of the names who graced the occasion. The president of the organization thanked everyone and announced the end of the program.
