Establishment of ‘Nath Mission’ is a very special initiative by Assam Banga Yogi Sammilani (hereinafter referred as ABYS) for the improvement of educational standards, socio-economic condition, development of talents of the Nath Yogi community and achievement of overall excellence. The resolution of establishing ‘Nath Mission’ under the auspices, ideology and patronage of ABYS was unanimously adopted at the meeting of the working committee of ABYS on the 24th November 2019.

This ‘mission’ will be instituted with the guidance of experts and eminent personalities of our community and will be discussed in details in a special workshop based on the ideas compiled and  suggestions of representatives from all over India and abroad. Presently collection and compilation of views is underway for preparing the draft constitution of the Nath Mission.

The objectives and the scope of the Nath mission will include but not be limited to the following:

1) Establishment of ‘Nath Bhandar’ to render financial assistance to the poor. To institute scholarships for students from weak financial background.

2) Revival and reestablishment of Nath Bank.

3) Establishment of old age home and formation of volunteer forces to save the lives and property of the helpless veterans of our community.

4) Institution of merit cum means scholarships in the name of Matsyendranath and Gorakkhanath.

5) Engagement with various Govt bodies to introduce curriculum in colleges, universities on Nath literature and culture.

6) Establishment of a museum for the preservation of all books, manuscripts, compositions, and architecture on Nath literature and culture.

7) Eliminate discrimination against people of our community with issuance of OBC certificates and reservation of seats in Govt jobs under OBC quota.

8) Engagement with various Govt. bodies for implementation of grants for the maintenance of monasteries, temples, and other religious places of all Nath / Yogi communities.

9) To reserve the public representation for Nath/Yogis in the community dominated areas

10) Establishment of coaching centres, co-operative societies etc. in Nath / Yogi inhabited areas.
